Advanced Thin Dense Chrome

Metalife Thin Dense Chrome plating will not affect a build-up of more than .00005" to .0002" under normal circumstances. Heavier plating up to .001" if requested and for thicker plating please specify in your request. The nodular structure of our Hard Chrome reduces the coefficient of friction substantially compared to other coatings.  Our thin dense hard chrome plating has a coefficient of friction rating of .12 to .16 depending on the application and a hardness equivalent equal to 72 Rc. The outstanding appearance of Thin Dense Chrome is a bright silver satin look.

Metalife TDC resists attack by almost all organic or inorganic compounds except sulphuric and hydrochloric (muratic) acids.  It shows no reaction in 48 hours with seawater, aerated seawater, or aerated rainwater.

Experience the benefits of our thin dense chrome plating, adding only .00005" to .0005" under normal circumstances, enhancing durability without significant dimensional changes. Our hard chrome plating eliminates the grinding phase associated with traditional hard chrome.

The temperature of Metalife's processing solution is 136° F which will not effect any of the base metals properties. Once Thin Dense Chrome is applied, the process will withstand temperatures from -400° to 1800° F.
